Double page spreads

Three double page spread analysis:

From looking at these double page spreads, I have managed to start coming up with some ideas as how to layout my own. Columns tend to be the best way to put large amounts of writing on the page as it is a typical layour for a magazine because of the benefits it has. It makes it easy for the reader to see, makes the page neat and makes there appear to be little writing even though it is filled with information. The last point is helpful because people won't want to read lots of writing. They will just want whats most interesting and important from the interview or story. A main photograph is key. It generally takes up one page so it has to be of good quality as any faults or imperfections would be clearly seen by the reader. It usually links with the main story in some way and the hair, make-up, costume and props will also link to this.
